Emirates resumes flights at Dubai International Airport after brief operational pause

DUBAI – Emirates has resumed flight operations at Dubai International Airport after a brief operational pause, allowing passengers with confirmed bookings on afternoon departures to proceed to the airport.
The airline said travellers scheduled to fly later in the day, including those transiting through Dubai, may travel as planned provided their connecting flights are also operating. Emirates emphasised that the safety of passengers and crew remains its highest priority and said operations would continue under strict safety considerations.
The update follows an earlier suspension of all flights to and from Dubai, during which the airline urged passengers not to travel to the airport while operations were paused.

In its latest advisory, Emirates confirmed that operations at Dubai International Airport have restarted and that passengers with confirmed reservations for afternoon flights can proceed to the airport for departure.

Transit passengers connecting through Dubai have also been cleared to travel, provided the onward segment of their journey is operating according to schedule. The airline advised customers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport to avoid disruptions.
Airlines often resume operations in phases following operational interruptions, prioritising scheduled departures while ensuring safety and logistical readiness across airport facilities.
Options for passengers
Emirates reiterated that passengers affected by earlier disruptions still have flexibility regarding their bookings. Travellers originally scheduled to fly between 28 February and 28 March may rebook their journeys to the same destination for travel on or before 30 April.
Customers who booked through travel agents have been instructed to contact their agents directly for assistance. Those who purchased tickets directly from the airline can manage their booking or rebook through the airline’s online support portal.
Passengers who no longer wish to travel may request a refund of their ticket. Emirates said refund requests can be submitted through its online refund form for direct bookings, while agent-issued tickets should be processed through the respective travel agency.

The airline has also advised customers to ensure that their contact details are correctly listed in their booking records. Passengers can update their information through the booking management section of the airline’s website to receive timely notifications regarding flight status and schedule changes.
Maintaining accurate contact details enables airlines to send real-time alerts about operational updates, rebooking options and other travel information.
City check-in
Despite the resumption of flight operations, Emirates confirmed that all city check-in points across Dubai remain temporarily closed until further notice.
City check-in facilities normally allow travellers to complete check-in and baggage drop procedures at locations across the city before arriving at the airport. The airline said these services will remain suspended for the time being while operations stabilise.
